“Under Construction” unfolds in the close quarters of an elevator, where four lives intersect and discover connections when they become trapped between floors. It’s a reminder that sometimes, being stuck can lead to the most meaningful of movements forward.

Eve – Kym Welch

Kym Welch has been performing in Tampa community theatre since 2012. She has had loads of fun in varied roles at Powerstories, Carrollwood Players, New Tampa Players, and West Coast Players. from the blood-hungry plant in Little Shop to a tough mother in Doubt. Whatever it is, she just enjoys being onstage and entertaining an audience.

Sara – Naomi Sample

Naomi Sample has been performing for quite some time now. Her biggest role to date is the proud mother of two teenagers. When not performing in one of Deb Kelley’s creations, she can be seen in different spots online commercials, t.v. commercials, The Florida Lottery being her most recent, or performing live at local dinner theaters. She loves to make people laugh. Sorry, not sorry this isn’t one of those times. Check out her website naomisample.com.

Michael – Andrew Brunner

Andrew is still fairly new to the acting world, especially in the Tampa area, and is very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this production. Some of his prior plays he has performed in is Disaster: The Musical, A Miracle on 34th Street, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Excursion Fare and even performed in an original short play, Junkie, at the 2019 Tampa Bay Theater Festival.

Zach Angel Zayas – Rowan

Zach Angel Zayas is Tampa native actor, director, and theatre educator. Previous on stage credits include: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Hysterium), The Wedding Singer (George), Cabaret (Victor/Max), Behind Closed Doors (Pierre). Zach is the Performing Arts Director at Pepin Academies where they have directed: Seussical JR, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music, Annie, Into the Woods JR, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Disney’s High School Musical JR. Zach would like to thank Deb Kelley for this fantastic opportunity!

Deborah Bostock-Kelley – Playwright/Director

Deborah Bostock-Kelley is a multi-time, award-winning playwright, also a director, producer, and actor, nominated for Creative Loafing 2024 Best of the Bay “Best Playwright,” and a finalist for Creative Loafing 2023 Best of the Bay “Best Playwright.” Her work has appeared across stages in Tampa Bay, competing in the Tampa Bay Theatre Festival every year, excluding the pandemic. Her one-acts have also been performed at Carrollwood Players One Act Weekend, 4×6 Festival, Powerstories SheVolution Festival, Powerstories’ Voices of Truth and Voices of Women Theatre Festivals, Tarpon Arts, and most recently, The Tampa International Fringe Festival. A recipient of the Gobioff Foundation Grant, Tampa Bay Theatre Festival Denise Deneen Award, and Theatre Tampa Bay Jeff Norton Dream Grant, she’s renowned for her socially impactful one-acts and full-length plays across Tampa Bay’s stages. Her self-produced debut 2023 playwright showcase, “Tapestry: A Weekend of Socially-Conscious Storytelling,” sold out and was nominated for multiple recognitions. She’s excited for you to see “Under Construction.”

Laura Moch – Stage Manager / Sound Tech

Laura has worked in the community theatre for almost 10 years between her work at Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts at Ruth Eckerd Hall and Hat Trick Theatre Productions Inc. The last time you saw Laura was stage managing Deb’s production Tapestry: A Weekend of Socially-
Conscious Storytelling. And now she can’t wait for you to enjoy this show!!!
